Well, I woke up this morning in a lot of pain today. I presume it was from just doing too much yesterday. But, my entire body aches and it is hard to get around today. Bummer. I also just feel like I am coming down with something too. But, hopefully I will feel better soon.
I felt pretty sore just from the drive down to San Diego last Sunday – so it doesn’t take much I guess. And yesterday, I had to go to Santa Monica to see my oncologist (see post below for how that went) and as soon as I got home I had to get ready to perform that night. It was the first time I played the bass since last July (before surgery and radiation, but in the middle of chemo). It was nice not to be playing bald this time. But, physically it was pretty hard to do. Still, it was good to know that I can still do it. It was certainly not my best playing, but I got up there and did it and it was great to see my band again. They want to know when I will be back permanently . . . so do I 🙂
With surgery coming up soon (March 22nd) I have time for probably one more gig before surgery. Assuming I recover from last night quickly. Some video was taken from last night. I haven’t seen it yet, but once I do, if it came out alright, then I will post it up here.
I think I am going back to bed.
Please continue your prayers.
Love,
L.
I vote for one more gig! 🙂 First, that attitude of “time for one more before surgery” has GOT to be healing. Second, you should recover from the next one even more quickly, since you’ll be further along in your physical therapy. And, most importantly, you need to play on a night when I can go see you!!!
Love,
Sandy
Hi Sandy,
Thank you 🙂 Last night was, well, an unusual gig – and my first time back, so I didn’t really advertise it. But, I may be playing on March 6 around 7:30 pm in Santa Ana. I will keep you posted on that for sure. I just have to see how the next few days go and I also have to find out more about the gig. But, let’s get in touch by phone and I’ll fill you in, okay? If I do play on the 6th (I hope to) it will be the last time before my next surgery. But, then I will be back playing as soon as I can and so there will definitely be other opportunities to come and see our group. So we’ll talk soon, okay?
Love,
L.
